  • Protected zones are defined and current.
  • Each zone has a clear owner.
  • Information/assets in the zone are identified.
  • Perimeter boundary is physically complete enough for its purpose.
  • Walls, doors, ceilings, windows, and service routes are checked.
  • Emergency exits are safe and controlled.
  • Shared building or landlord access is risk-assessed.
  • Reception/public access route is controlled.
  • Out-of-hours and lone-working access is controlled.
  • Perimeter controls match information classification and risk.
  • Changes since last review are recorded.
